Health literacy for Trust staff

Health literacy can be defined as “the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to gain access to, understand and use information in ways which promote and maintain good health” (World Health Organisation).

Or in simpler terms, being able to access, understand and use information to become healthy and stay healthy.

The library team offers advice, guidance and training for GHNHSFT staff to help raise awareness of health literacy and how the Trust can improve in this area.
